Leading Through Change (Leadership & Management Level 6)

Skills to Advance is a national initiative that provides upskilling and reskilling opportunities to employees in jobs undergoing change and to those currently employed in vulnerable sectors. Skills to Advance aims to equip employees with the skills they need to progress in their current role or to adapt to the changing job market. 

In response to the ongoing critical challenges that organisations and businesses are facing, a new Leadership &  Management training initiative is now available. Providing highly subsidised training to upskill supervisory staff, this programme will maximise an organisation’s ability to deal with a variety of challenges and opportunities.

Who is it for?

Employees of organisations or businesses who are:

• currently performing a team leader or frontline management role
• new to a supervisory role.

Does the programme lead to a qualification?

There are two qualification levels available:

• Certificate in Leadership and Management
• Diploma in Leadership and Management.

Employees can choose the certificate or diploma option, depending on their training needs, and can progress from certificate to diploma level. Local ETBs can help organisations decide which level is most suitable to the employee’s needs.

• managing change
• effective decision making
• writing for business
• problem solving
• managing remote workers.

Additional modules available:

• digital skills
• lean principles
• stress management.

How is the programme delivered?

• by Education and Training Boards (ETBs) in your region
• online with tutor support, or when feasible, a blend of online and in-person training
• flexible scheduling to suit both business and employee requirements.

Duration depends on the delivery schedule agreed between the employer and the ETB providing the training. The certificate could be completed over 3-4 months with the diploma typically taking 9-12 months.
